At a time when the world is thirsting for new sounds and positive energy, LEONORA is entering the pop-funk stage. With her catchy hooks and modern sounds, the 22-year-old artist brings a breath of fresh air to the musical landscape. She grew up in the Bergisches Land region, but her DNA is full of Italian temperament and musicality. She has been writing songs for herself and others for several years, giving concerts and winning competitions, whether as a solo artist with piano accompaniment or with a live band, LEONORA inspires with her warm and dark vocal colour, her clever songwriting and her positive charisma. From her parents - ‘They realised that something was there, so they said: Let's encourage it!’ - to the talent scouts in the industry (Treffen junge Musikszene, Popkurs Hamburg), everyone could agree on the potential of the German-Italian. She grew up in Solingen and now lives in Wuppertal, where she also met her current producer Golow in 2017, whose references include Samy Deluxe, Flo Mega and Horst Wegener - ‘Of course it was amazing for me at 17 that Golow simply approached me and offered me a collaboration.’ The result is productions with a state-of-the art sound that LEONORA performs sometimes cheekily, sometimes confidently and sometimes emotionally - but always honestly. ‘Not everything in my songs is necessarily autobiographical. But I have to be able to convey the message of a song authentically.’ She obviously succeeds, as the reactions of her fans show. ‘Maybe I'm not the technically perfect singer. But what I do get across quite clearly is that people believe the emotions I sing with.’ A strong female voice that is heard.
