Louis Matute - Large Ensemble
Engaging and bittersweet, Louis Matute's music is like no other. Caught between Europe, where he was born, and Latin America, of which he dreamed, this Generation Z child, too genuine for the fiction of reality and too sincere for the fiction of himself, swings wide open the doors to his universe with the album Small Variations From The Previous Day (March 29, 2024). It is a room with a view, in which guitars in yellow, red, blue and white hold on to passing friends. It's the smell of coffee, travel photos, a reflection in the mirror, small rivers and big questions. All of this — life! — Louis Matute has it under his fingers. A sound, a wild storytelling talent, a folklore that takes shape: On this great fourth album, his music appears as close and rich as never before. “I've never written a melody without singing it at the same time,” he admits. These melodies, full of pop and saudade, go straight to the heart and leave a touch of magic in the air.
