Plaush.

Melancholy to danceable indie folk pop that gets under your skin

plaush. is the solo project of singer-songwriter Jan Plausteiner. He began writing his own songs at the age of 17 — as a form of therapy against heartbreak and melancholy. It was then that he presented his first songs on the streets of Augsburg. Today, more than 10 years later, he tours Austria and all over Germany and sweeps audiences with his catchy songs at festivals, open airs and clubs. Among other things, he won song slams and supported The Gardener & The Tree and DJANGO 3000.

Inspired by musicians such as Bon Iver, Ben Howard, Mumford & Sons and Angus & Julia Stone, he tells personal stories in his lyrics and on stage. This is also the case with “Kischa Pada”, a setting of his emotional relationship with the Croatian father, which has had a lasting influence on his personal and musical development. The track is a nostalgic homage to his childhood; a journey from Germany to the Balkans, where he also wrote his first songs on the guitar. The guitar is also an important element on stage. To present the multi-layered soundscapes of his songs live, Jan also uses a loop station, a stompbox, a laptop and a harmoniser for polyphonic vocals.
