Searching for Home
Searching for Home is not a classic band project, but an eleven-member collective — and it is precisely this collective energy that can be heard in every beat. Coming from Leipzig, they move between jazz and pop without submitting to a fixed grid. Instead, pieces are created that combine groove and complexity, that are melodically accessible and at the same time remain musically demanding.
After several releases, over 170 concerts and awards such as the Sparda Jazz Award, Jazzfruit Award and Burghausen Jazz Award, Searching for Home is celebrating its tenth anniversary — not as nostalgia, but as a departure. The anniversary show brings new and reworked originals to the stage and uses fresh sound to illuminate different facets of interpersonal relationships: the view of oneself, the pull of hyperfocus on one person, the quiet divergence, but also the power to remain connected nonetheless.
Led by singer Ida, a live show is being created with a push for progress and infectious optimism. Pulsating grooves, rich wind instruments, driving basses and guitars as well as sophisticated synthesizer colors ensure that this music not only tells but carries. Searching for Home is a statement that jazz and pop don't have to be a compromise — but a shared space in which new standards are created.
