The young funk band Funky Times can certainly be described as an Internet sensation. Their virtuoso, funky, good-humor videos have regularly gone viral on platforms such as Instagram and TikTok since their inception in early 2020 and have resulted in a variety of collaborations with musicians from all over the world, such as bassist Henrik Linder from Dirty Loops or former Prince trumpeter Philip Lassiter. Funk legend Candy Dulfer also became aware of them: “One of my favorite new bands,” she said about Funky Times and even invited the band to their “Candy's Choice” concert series in Amsterdam. Groovy basslines meet a singing drummer, virtuoso keyboard solos meet funky guitar riffs. The band in colorful windbreaker tracksuits from the Aschaffenburg area simply knows how to set the mood.
